New Luxury Ski Resorts Expand Winter Meeting Options

For event planners as Meeting Direct in search of stunning venues that are ideal for winter events, 2014 is bringing some luxurious new options:

The Chedi Andermatt (Switzerland)

A shimmering cluster of 5 star apartments nestled in the Alps in Switzerland’s Uri canton, The Chedi Andermatt, which opened on December 6, 2013, has left no stone unturned to ensure that guests are pampered in a luxurious setting. The spa and wellness center offers a menu of holistic services. One of the  2 gourmet restaurants is operated by Michelin Star Chef Mansour Memarian.

With 104 spacious guest rooms and suites, world-renowned architect Jean-Michel Gathy created a soothing ambience with wood, stone and other natural materials.

Facilities for groups include a boardroom with a capacity of 16 that has its own living room and pre-function area. There is an elevated semi-private dining room that can accommodate 20 for dining and 30 for receptions as well as a semi-private dining room with space for 24 for dining and 30 for receptions. The private venue for wine tastings accommodates 8.

L’Apogee Courchevel (France)

The newest jewel in the Oetker Collection crown, L’Apogee Courchevel is a luxurious ski-in ski-out resort in the French Alps that opened on December 11, 2013. Guests are pampered at Le Spa de L’Apogee with 5 treatment rooms, an indoor pool and a Jacuzzi. Designed by Joseph Dirand and India Mahdavi, renowned architects and interior designers, the resort has 53 suites, a Penthouse and Chalet L’Amarante, a 5 level, 5 Star ski chalet that is perfect for small groups.

Chalet L’Amarante has 5 rooms with private ensuites, a kitchen, dining room, and large lounge that can be used for meetings. There is a dedicated chef, butler, maid and valet. During downtime, guests can relax in the chalet’s private sauna, Jacuzzi and double massage room. For recreation, there is a cinema room and a PlayStation.
