Cambodia, a promising MICE destination!

Cambodia is not really known as a MICE destination and was long shadowed by its neighbors Thailand and Vietnam. However, it is showing its will to become a Business Tourism destination that counts. Incentive Direct is an expert in organizing Incentives to Asia.

Tourism was multiplied by 5 between 2000 and 2011 and the country has managed to update its hotels as well as air and road infrastructures depending on the needs and demand. New hotels have opened, new tours have been set up, and new services have been created in order to best meet the requirements of individual and business tourism.

Cambodia has a distinct asset: its cultural heritage. Indeed, two sites are classified on the Unesco’s World Heritage List: Preah Vihear temple and the very famous Angkor, with its park and two stunning temples. The national reserves, the Mekong riverbanks, and Lake Tonlé Sap (to cite only a few) also deserve a visit.

The country still does not have many facilities dedicated to the setting up of congresses and conventions but some cities such as Phnom Penh and Sihanoukville have started works to enhance their capacity and host bigger scale events. The country’s biggest congress center, Angkor COEX Convention, is located in Angkor and is equipped with all the required technical facilities for a quality event.
